Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Haven’t Mentioned

There are some books I absolutely love but I just haven’t had time to mention. That’s why this week’s topic is perfect. The Broke and the Bookish host Top Ten Tuesday every week and this week’s topic is Ten Books I Really Love But Feel Like I Haven’t Talked About Enough/In A While. It’s been a few years since I read any of these books.  Some of them I read in high school but most I read in college.

  1. The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
One of my favorite books of all time. Seriously.  I’m due for a reread and when I do, I’ll post my official review.
  2. Blankets by Craig Thompson
This was introduced to me my freshman year of college back in 2010. A roommate showed it to me and when she described it, I knew I needed to read.  I recommend it anyone who wants to get into reading graphic novels.  It’s brilliant.
  3. A Great & Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray
I adored this series in high school and I’m due for a reread soon.  It made me long for magic and boarding schools.
  4. Survivor  by Chuck Palahniuk
There’s something about Palahniuk’s books. I sometimes but find them annoying but I kinda love them at the same time.
  5. The Storyteller by Jodi Picoult
Books about WWII are one of my biggest weaknesses.  Jodi Picoult can weave a story like no other.  This is a beautiful and heartbreaking novel and one of my favorites of hers.
  6. The Lover’s Dictionary  by David Levithan
Such a simple but elegant book about the realities of love.  I love it a million tiny little pieces.  He created a twitter account that is perfection.  Check it out.
  7. Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen
It took me so long to get past the first 5 pages but then I did and it was wonderful and I love Sara Gruen.
  8. Chocolat  by Joanne Harris
    This book.  It’s lovely.
  9. Veronica Mars books & Rats Saw God by Rob Thomas
I want more VM books.  Though, anything Rob Thomas writes I will read.
  10. Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein
This book was so unexpected.  I picked it up because WWII and then I fell in love with it.

What’s on your TTT?

  1. I have been on the fence about reading The Night Circus since it has so many mixed reviews. If I had a dollar for every time I have almost bought it off amazon, or picked it up at a store… Not sure what’s holding me back.

    1. Thanks! It’s so weird to think that I love these books but because I read them before starting this blog, I haven’t really talked about them. It’s daunting to think about needing to go back and review them eventually.

  2. I have so many of these on my TBR pile. I’m especially looking forward to Water for Elephants. And I’m glad for the heads up that the beginning is a little hard to get into; I’ll be keeping that in mind. 🙂 And ugh, I NEED, NEED to read The Night Circus soon. I’ve heard so many good things about that one. Wonderful list, Evie! 😀

    1. Thanks Summer!! And the beginning is actually really good– I just was in a weird mood I think. Then again, rereading the beginning after you’ve read the book is a completely different experience so I don’t know anymore! Haha. And yes! Ohmygod. Do it.
