Happy Tuesday! Today’s another Top Ten Tuesday hosted by The Broke & the Bookish. This week’s topic has to do with the past or the future, whichever you choose. I wanted to talk about Top Ten Historical Settings I Love.
- Jacobite Revolution (Scotland)
It’s really just because I’ve read so much of it, though, I really do love it. - WWII
Set in any country, it’s my biggest weakness. I can’t get enough. - The 1920s America
Can you say flappers & speakeasies & gangsters? - Victorian London
Those dresses. The crazy royals. Gimme gimme. - Salem, MA during the witch trials
I love reading about witches (or the lack thereof). - Russia in the 1800s & early 1900s
Tsars and Anastasia and thinking of that beautiful architecture. - Ancient Egypt & Rome
Cleopatra and Pharaohs. - Westerns
But really only because of Vengeance Road. - 1800s Paris & French Revolution
- Any time & place regarding pirates
Who doesn’t enjoy swashbuckling pirates every now & again?
What time periods are on your lists? Do you have a favorite location?

I wish there was more from the Romanov era. It’s always intrigued me too.
And WWII makes such a fantastic story setting. Plus, much easier to find. 🙂
Love your list!

Yeah, no kidding. I feel like I’m finding a new book I love about WWII every few months. I love that it’s so popular.
Thanks!!

OMG. WWII is totally my weakness. Whenever I read a book summary and know that’s the setting, I put it on my TBR. Now there are way too many that I’m behind on reading!
